Can You Hear It? - Music and Artificial Intelligence
In the digital age, artificial intelligence (AI) is a central topic of discussion. What opportunities does AI offer, and what dangers does it pose? And how does it work anyway? Can algorithms replace or even surpass human creativity? These are the questions addressed in the exhibition "Can You Hear It? Music and Artificial Intelligence" at the MK&G, which presents various AI applications in the field of music. The spectrum of topics is diverse, ranging from the use of AI in streaming services to emotionality in film music, and from new findings in ethnomusicology and instrumental acoustics to hip-hop as a political and global phenomenon. The multifaceted exhibition will invite visitors to playfully interact with diverse multimedia stations.
The exhibition is a cooperation of the MK&G with the Institute for Systematic Musicology at the University of Hamburg as well as Musicube, Elbsilber and Ohrfilm, and is kindly supported by the Volkswagen Foundation, the Körber Foundation and the Merck Finck Foundation.
On May 26th our exhibition starts at the MK&G in Hamburg.
