Course of Studies
Anthropological Studies in Culture and History (Empirische Kulturwissenschaft) at the University of Hamburg
Anthropological Studies in Culture and History focuses on contemporary, "modern" societies and examines how social realities and worlds of experience are culturally constructed and have developed historically. With a focus on cultural and social spaces as well as media and technology in everyday life, the courses offered to Bachelor's and Master's students address key topics in social and cultural analysis.
The excellent student-teacher ratio and close interaction between lecturers and students characterise the programme beyond the classroom – there are many opportunities to exchange ideas, gain professional orientation and help shape everyday life at the institute. Here you will find more information about the institute's programmes and courses, as well as helpful information and documents that are important for your studies.
