Toxic solutions

We live in a "permanently polluted world" (Liboiron 2016). Even though the socio-ecological problems associated with this are complex and irreversible, the organised response to them is rarely simply resignation. Toxins are captured, or those who are able and can afford to do so remove themselves from them; attempts are made to render them ineffective or convert them using other substances; substitutes or effective legal remedies are sought. This, in turn, further changes worlds. This lecture discusses how we conduct substance-oriented research into coping strategies and what we can learn from it.
